Conversation Starting Bootcamp
This one is for people who want to stop leaving events, bars, subway cars, etc. thinking “They were cute, I wish I said hi”.
You’ve learned how to start a conversation. You’ve learned how to keep it going. Now it’s time to actually do it.
Conversation Starting Bootcamp is the third workshop in the Talking to Strangers portion of the From Waiting to Magnetic series. That’s a mouthful, but point is - we’re building on past work and we’ll continue to build after.
This workshop’s going to look a little different. We’re not sitting in a room talking about talking to people or doing simulations of talking to strangers. This time we’re doin’ the damn thing!
Here’s how the night works:
We’ll start with exploring key frameworks related to striking up conversations with strangers and how to feel confident in doing so. Then we’ll go over particular goals for the evening prior to heading out in the wild. After, we’ll all hop on the F train for a short ride to Washington Square Park to practice starting and keeping conversations with actual strangers.
I’ll be there the whole time. If you need support, your coach and wingman, Brandon, has your back.
What you’ll walk away with:
Real reps with real people in the real world
A new found confidence that only comes from actually doing it
Momentum to build off of
One commitment to keep practicing after the night is over
We will make this fun! But fair warning: this will feel uncomfortable. That’s the point. On the other side of that discomfort is the version of you that can walk into any room and talk to anyone.
Let’s get it y’all!
Schedule (subject to change):
5:30-5:45: Arrival at DUMBO Fabrik
5:45-6:00: Introductions
6:00-7:00: Frameworks and Prep (light snacks will be provided, but bring food if you're worried about getting hangry)
7:00ish-7:20ish: Commute
7:30-8:30: Practice practice practice
8:30: Wrap up - structured event ends
