Welcome to Kampung Soup Kitchen Vol. 4: National Day Ice Cream Party! 🇸🇬🍦
Kampung Soup Kitchen is a small, free community gathering where I cook and serve food for anyone who wants a space to slow down, meet people and share a meal together.
The idea is simple: to bring back a little bit of kampung spirit through food, conversation and community.
For this edition, we're doing something a little different: an afternoon ice cream party!
This upcoming session is held at Tampines Green, with venue and logistics support from Tampines Green RN.
🍦 Planned flavours
🥥 Light Kaya Toast Ice Cream
A lighter take on kaya, with pandan, coconut and kaya-inspired flavours.
🍫 Milo Malt Crunch Ice Cream
Chocolatey, malty and nostalgic, with a little crunch.
☕ Kopi & Condensed Milk Ice Cream
Inspired by our local kopi, rich and bittersweet with condensed milk.
🧈 Brown Butter & Salted Gula Melaka Ice Cream
Nutty brown butter with caramel-like gula melaka and a touch of salt.
🫖 Teh O Halia Limau Sorbet
Black tea, fresh ginger and lime. Light, aromatic and refreshing.
🍊 Mandarin, Lime & Sour Plum Sorbet
A fruity, sweet-sour sorbet with a little salty sour-plum kick.
There will also be a selection of locally inspired toppings to customise your ice cream, as well as a crêpe station!
Two of the planned flavours are dairy-free sorbets.
Potential allergens include: milk/dairy, eggs, gluten/wheat, soy, coconut and other ingredients depending on toppings.
As part of efforts to make the session more inclusive for Muslim residents, relevant equipment and spaces will undergo a sertu process where applicable. Please note that the event and food are not halal-certified.
🥣 Please bring your own heat-proof bowl and spoon if possible!
This helps reduce waste and makes cleanup easier. You may also want to bring a takeaway container in case there is food left towards the end.

🍦 Ice cream & sorbet service: From around 1.00pm, while stocks last
💰 Cost: Free
Slots are limited to around 90–100 registered participants so that food, seating and crowd flow remain manageable and respectful to residents.
Registered participants will be served first. Walk-ins may only be served if food remains.
🙋 Volunteers
I may also need a small number of volunteers to help with setup, registration, serving, the crêpe station, washing and cleanup.

Volunteer slots are limited, so I may not be able to take everyone for this session, but I really appreciate every offer to help. ❤️
📸 Photography and videography may take place during the event. Please let me know at the event if you prefer not to be photographed or filmed.
If you sign up, please do your best to turn up. If you can no longer make it, please cancel your slot or let me know so that it can go to someone else.
