Eisbach Cold Plunge

After the success of the last Isar Cold Plunge event, we are excited to bring this back and offer you another session while the winter lasts!

Cold exposure is a cornerstone of longevity, known for reducing inflammation, improving metabolic health, and building stress resilience. This time, we’ll have Daniela Ullmann as our cold exposure coach, who will guide us through the session and ensure we do this safely and effectively.

Meet Your Host: Daniela Ullmann

Daniela is a certified health coach, ice bathing expert and founder of eisbaden-münchen.de. She specializes in nervous system training, mental resilience, and sustainable performance.

For her, ice bathing is not just a cold dip — it’s a ritual. A way to reconnect with your breath, regulate your stress response, and build inner strength.

She loves helping people integrate cold plunges as a powerful ritual into their daily lives and she’s a deep believer in the health and mental benefits that year-round cold training brings.

Schedule

  • Sunday, 8 March at 10 AM: Meet in the parking lot of Haus der Kunst and then talk to the location together.

  • Theory: Daniela will explain what happens in your body during cold exposure, how your stress response works, and how to enter and exit the water safely and confidently.

  • Plunge: A guided group dip into the Eisbach.

  • Warm-up: After drying off, we’ll go to Cafe Lehel to warm up, celebrate the experience and share the post-plunge "high."

What to Bring

The event is free to join. Just bring some cash for a warm drink afterwards! To stay safe and comfortable, please pack the following:

  • Swimwear (worn underneath your clothes for an easy change).

  • A warm hat (essential: this is where you lose the most heat!).

  • Gloves & a towel

  • Water shoes or flip-flops.

  • Something to stand on (an old yoga mat or extra towel) so you aren't on the cold ground.

  • Warm, loose layers that are easy to put back on while your hands are cold.

  • (optional) A surfing poncho (or a large robe) for changing discreetly.

⚠️ Safety & Requirements

Your health is our priority. Cold plunging is powerful but places stress on the cardiovascular system.

  • Health Declaration: When signing up for the event, you will be required to sign a health declaration before entering the water. This is a requirement for joining the event.

  • Contraindications: If you have or had high blood pressure, heart conditions, epilepsy, panic attacks, severe asthma, kidney failure, recent surgeries, open wounds, Raynaud's syndrome, cold allergy, infections or are pregnant, we kindly ask that you sit this one out. When in doubt, please consult your doctor before joining.
