🙋‍♀️ Q&A [FREE]: Pathways to Publishing: Understanding Your Options Beyond Traditional Routes w/ Madeleine White of Libraro
What if there were more than one way to bring your work into the world? How do writers navigate publishing without waiting for permission?
Publishing no longer follows a single, linear path. For today’s writers, the landscape includes independent presses, magazines, audio, community-led platforms, co-creation models, and reader-driven discovery—each with its own opportunities and risks.
Madeleine White has spent her career working across these evolving pathways. An author, editor, and founder of Write On! Magazine, Madeleine has built print, digital, and audio platforms that amplify under-represented voices, while collaborating closely with writers, readers, libraries, and publishers. She also works with Libraro, a community-driven platform connecting writers, readers, and publishing professionals.
In this Q&A, Madeleine will help demystify what publishing can look like beyond traditional routes—and how writers can make informed, empowered choices about where their work belongs.
We’ll explore:
The changing publishing landscape and what it means for writers today
Alternatives to traditional publishing and how to assess them
Building visibility, readership, and credibility outside conventional gatekeeping
Questions writers should ask before committing to any publishing pathway
Tips for submitting to The Libraro Prize for Fiction to win a £50k book deal (unagented adult/YA fiction writers)
