The Building Blocks of a Business
✨ THIS CLASS IS FOR ALL BEAUTY PROS IN ANY STAGE OF THE INDUSTRY, NOT JUST HAIRSTYLISTS ✨
Are you a beauty professional dreaming of working for yourself but unsure where to begin in the jumbled mess of business starting? We want to help you!
Florence and Ash have both navigated their journey from toxic salon commission to freedom in working on their own, and have decided to share everything they wish they had known before they made the move. Taught by two working hairstylists who have been exactly where you are, this class is your start to making the transition from commission to renting your own space, on your own terms.
What We Cover
Exiting toxicity:
We’ll walk you through how to transition respectfully and professionally, by protecting your relationships, your reputation, and your clientele, and how to prepare even if you only have a short amount of time.
How Much to Save:
One of the biggest reasons stylists delay their leap is financial uncertainty. We plan to break down realistic startup costs, how many months of expenses to have saved, and how to calculate whether you’re actually ready to take the leap.
Getting Organized Before You Go:
From client records and booking systems to tools, retail, and supplies! We will cover how to get your business plan in place so day one on your own feels less chaotic and stressful.
Marketing Yourself as an Independent Stylist
Your salon was doing a lot of that work for you. Now it’s all you, and that’s actually the best thing! We will discuss building your personal brand, niching down, growing on social media, asking for referrals, and converting followers into clients.
Budgeting as a Business Owner
Weekly income on your own is not predictable the way a commission check is. Learn how to manage fluctuating income, track your expenses, set aside taxes, pay yourself correctly, and how to navigate tax season!
Setting Goals for Your Future
We will also be going over building a loyal clientele, and what that looks like, raising your prices, expanding or limiting your services, and creating a career you actually enjoy being in.
This class is for any licensed beauty professional currently working on commission who is curious about, or seriously considering, making a move to booth rental or suite ownership.
