Camp Dad 2026
Every year, a big group of dads pack up the kids and head somewhere beautiful.
The kids roam free in a big pack. The dads hang out. We eat well and enjoy life.
It ticks a lot of boxes:
✅ The kids have a blast and build core memories
✅ The dads laugh their heads off, mostly relax, and get real quality time with their kids
✅ The wives get a break and a quiet house to themselves
✅ We add some light programming, so it’s technically a business writeoff
This year, we’re going to Sunriver Resort in Oregon — a massive, family-friendly resort that’s basically designed for this exact kind of trip.
There’s an absurd amount to do:
Year-round pools and waterslides
40+ miles of paved bike trails (you can ride everywhere)
River floats, kayaking, and paddleboarding
Horseback riding and pony rides
Golf, pickleball, and tennis
A nature center, observatory, and tons of outdoor space
It’s the kind of place where kids disappear on bikes all day and somehow never run out of things to do.
On the adult side, we’ll bring in a few great speakers and keep the programming tight and actually interesting — more like conversations you’d want to have anyway, not conference fluff.
We’re also planning to have childcare available, so you can carve out time to relax, hang with other dads, or join sessions without juggling logistics the whole time.
Food is easy but flexible — there are multiple restaurants on-site, plus a village nearby with casual spots, coffee, ice cream, and groceries. We’ll likely organize a few group meals, but otherwise food is on your own dime, so you can do it however you want (quick and easy with the kids, or a proper sit-down).
The resort has a mix of lodge rooms, suites, and full vacation homes, so it works really well for a group this size.
In other words: tons for the kids, plenty for the dads, and enough built-in activities that the whole thing practically runs itself.
