Tampa Bay Tech Innovation Sprint: Building the Future of Tampa Bay with AI
Tampa Bay Tech, in partnership with Slalom Consulting, is bringing together our tech-forward members for a focused, collaborative session to explore how technology — and AI in particular — can help solve real challenges facing our region.
This is not a hackathon and not about building a finished product. It’s a curated, fast-moving group think designed to tap into the collective experience of our members — developers, engineers, data leaders, business operators, and problem-solvers — who live and work in Tampa Bay and understand our region firsthand.
Why This Matters
Tampa Bay is growing fast. With that growth comes opportunity — and complexity. Traffic, tourism, public safety, sustainability, workforce access, storm preparedness, and business infrastructure are all evolving at once. As the region’s tech community, we have a unique opportunity to think differently about how technology can support smarter, more resilient solutions.
This session is about starting those conversations together.
What to Expect
You’ll work in small groups (4-5 people) with fellow Tampa Bay Tech members to:
Identify real, everyday challenges in the Tampa Bay area
Explore where AI or emerging technology could play a role
Share perspectives from different industries and company sizes
Shape ideas that are practical, realistic, and rooted in local insight
No coding required. No pitch deck pressure. Just thoughtful discussion, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.

4:50 – 5:30 PM — Shaping Your Idea
Use the white pad to build out your solution based on the provided judging criteria.
5:30 – 5:45 PM — Articulating Your Idea
Craft a compelling pitch that clearly communicates the value and impact of your solution.
5:45 – 6:30 PM — Presenting Your Idea
Each team will pitch their solution to the judges in less than 5 minutes.
6:30 - 7:00 PM - Award Announcements & Networking
7:00 PM - Event Concludes
