Event Capacity: 12 attendees

With year-end tax planning season approaching, join Stone Owl Family Office and Virtus Capital Management for a lunch session on a strategy category built for that situation: tax-assisted real estate, which lets investors use their income and tax position, rather than their savings, to build ownership in income-producing property.

For high-income salaried professionals, the obstacle to building wealth usually isn’t income. It’s that nearly half of it goes to tax before it can be invested, and most of what’s left goes to the mortgage, the kids’ school, and the life you’ve built.

Many of the strategies wealthy families rely on, depend on having a corporation with surplus capital. If most of your income comes from a T4 salary, those tools may not always apply, and the options left can feel limited.

What Will Be Covered

  • Why traditional wealth strategies often fall short for high-income salaried professionals

  • How tax-assisted real estate works, and how investors build ownership using income rather than savings

  • Who this strategy suits and who it doesn’t, including income level, tax bracket, and income stability

  • The questions every investor should ask before committing: financing terms, personal guarantees, cash flow, what happens if your income changes, and how and when you exit

Presenters

Aurelio Baglione, CEO of Virtus Financial Group of Companies
Aurelio has over 30 years of experience owning and managing Canadian and U.S. retail, office, and residential real estate, and over 25 years in the securities industry. He has led more than a dozen tax-assisted real estate offerings over his career.

Josh Will, President, Virtus Capital Corporation
Josh has 20 years in executive roles at real estate investment firms. His career spans private real estate marketing and asset management, including selling U.S. real estate through the 2007-2009 financial crisis. He works with family offices, exempt market dealers, and investment firms across Canada, and is known for a hands-on, cash-flow-first approach to underwriting.

Carl Brodie, CFP®, Chief Financial Planner, Stone Owl Family Office
Carl advises high-income professionals and business owners on building, protecting, and transferring wealth tax-efficiently. He works alongside clients’ accountants and lawyers so that every part of the plan, from investments to estate, works together.

Carl will open the session and moderate an open Q&A on the questions investors should ask before committing to any leveraged investment.

Who Should Attend

High-income professionals earning primarily T4 income in the top tax bracket, such as physicians, specialists, senior executives, and other salaried professionals, who want their income building long-term assets. Accountants and advisors are welcome to attend with their clients.
