WIE Speaker Series: KIDS FIRST! Film Critics
Ranny Levy, the co-founder of the Coalition for Quality Children's Media (CQCM) and its tentpole program KIDS FIRST!, has had a love for entertainment since childhood. A dancer and performer from an early age, Ranny has danced with the likes of Alvin Ailey and Merce Cunningham. Levy is an entrepreneur, author of three books, and speaker.
Upon becoming a mother and grandmother, she became concerned about the effects of violent and biased media on children. This led to the founding of CQCM and its flagship program, KIDS FIRST!. KIDS FIRST! Film Critics Initiative recruits and trains kids, tweens, and teens to attend press screenings, red carpets, and other industry invents while encouraging them to write and produce reviews of films, TV shows, and other media.
Join the WIE Speaker Series on Wednesday, June 24th, at 10am PT as Ranny shares her story, the founding of KIDS FIRST!, and brings in some of her kiddo participants, IvyJoy, Zoey, and Braedyn, to share their experience participating in the program.
