AI Governance apéro & talk

Haydn is visiting Switzerland to attend the UN negotiations on lethal autonomous weapons. In this talk, Haydn will both introduce the field of AI governance and cover some cutting-edge topics in the field. Haydn will discuss the past decade (the 'AI summer') and suggest some themes for the next decade. We will discuss his work around competition law/antitrust, defence assurance, compute governance and the prospects for international treaties.

Haydn is a Research Associate and Academic Project Manager at the University of Cambridge's Centre for the Study of Existential Risk for the past five years. During that time he advised the UK, US, and Singaporean governments; the EU, UN and OECD; and leading technology companies.

⏳ Join us this Thursday at 19:30 in BC 01.

Bonus: since the talk is quite late, we'll be eating before together in the same room. Come to chill, eat and talk about AI safety from 19:00.
