The mental health conversation every new mom deserves—with Dr. Lilly Jay
Something shifts after baby arrives — and it's not just sleep deprivation.
Most new parents are told to "trust their instincts." But what happens when your instincts feel like anxiety, numbness, or guilt you can't explain? What happens when the thing that's supposed to feel like the best time of your life... doesn't?
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Riley is hosting a free fireside chat with Dr. Lilly Jay, a licensed clinical psychologist and certified perinatal mental health counselor, to talk honestly about what's actually happening in your mind after baby, and what helps.
We'll cover:
The difference between baby blues, postpartum anxiety, and postpartum depression—and why most new moms can't tell them apart
The signs it's time to talk to someone (and what that actually looks like in practice)
What helps in the first 12 months postpartum. What doesn't. And the small things that make the biggest difference.
Live, honest, and judgment-free. The replay will be sent to everyone who registers.
Plus, all attendees receive 30 days of unlimited access to the Riley app, completely free.
About Dr. Lilly Jay
Dr. Lilly Jay is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified perinatal mental health counselor (PMH-C) based in New York. She specializes in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, maternal identity, and the emotional transition into parenthood — the part nobody warns you about.
Dr. Jay completed advanced training and a postdoctoral fellowship dedicated to treating parents navigating the full spectrum of the perinatal experience: infertility, traumatic birth, postpartum mood disorders, and the identity shift that comes with becoming a mother. She has a deep understanding of how pregnancy and postpartum affect mental health, and she brings both clinical rigor and genuine warmth to every conversation.
She is a member of Riley's Clinical Advisory Board.
About Riley
Riley is a 24/7 personalized parenting support app. Ask anything at 3am. Get science-backed answers tailored to your baby's age, stage, and your family's real situation, along with daily activities and guides to support your child's development.
Riley was created by Amanda DeLuca, who built the app after her own experience with postpartum anxiety and depression, because the support she needed should have been easier to find. Riley's resources are grounded in pediatric research and reviewed by a Clinical Advisory Board of pediatricians, therapists, and perinatal specialists.
This event is free. The 30-day Riley trial for all attendees is free. We just want more parents to know this conversation and the support around it exists.
