Leopard.FYI SF Talent & People Leaders Dinner: Part 2 (Legal & Regulatory Panel Discussion)
We're hosting a low-key panel & dinner in San Francisco for Talent & People Leaders across the broader Leopard network on April 23th, 2025, from 6:30-9 PM.
Our two panelists, experienced employment lawyers from San Francisco, have generously offered to dive deep into DEI legality questions across the recruiting stack with our group. We'll cover sourcing, interviewing, referrals, job boards & communities, ERGs, policies, and any other questions you all have. We'll also send. you home with a DEI in 2025 handbook based on their recommendations.
Meet the Panelists:
Christina Cordoza is an attorney at Littler Mendelson in their Employment Law Practice Group, advises business owners, in-house counsel, and HR professionals on a variety of HR and compliance issues, including leave and accommodation, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, terminations, and wage and hour matters. Christina is a long-time advocate for DEI, and offers a unique point of view, since she has also held the role of people leader herself.
Before joining Littler, Christina served as the Interim Global Head of People and Assistant General Counsel for Global Employment Law at StubHub, and spent over a decade in-house in People/HR and Legal roles at scaling CPG companies. She uses this unique experience to help companies craft inclusive, lawful policies, and also has published in journals about DEI-forward topics like Political Expression in the Workplace and the Constitutionality of All-Male Clubs.
John-Paul S. Deol is a partner and head of the Employment Law Practice Group at Dhillon Law Group. He represents prominent leaders across various industries, including technology, finance, private equity, venture capital, life sciences, legal, and healthcare. His practice focuses on high-profile matters involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, trade secrets, employee mobility, and compensation disputes. John-Paul also provides strategic advice to both employees and employers on complex employment issues.
John-Paul has been actively engaged in discussions about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. He has addressed concerns regarding the legal risks associated with certain DEI programs, including hiring quotas, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and bias training. During this event, he will emphasize best practices for startups in scaling their workforce, mitigating bias in hiring and promotions, and navigating the evolving legal landscape surrounding DEI programs.
