Hike for Hope - Washington, DC Event

​Join the Jane Goodall Institute's Washington DC-based team for a hike through Rock Creek Park. The hike will take place on the Milkhouse Ford Loop - aprox 1.7 miles, moderate level.

We will meet at the Rock Creek Park Nature Center and Planetarium. Come prepared to observe nature and honor the late Dr. Jane Goodall on the anniversary of her passing 🤍

Directions to the Nature Center and Planetarium:

​From Military Road NW, turn right on to Glover Road NW. Follow Glover Road to the left when it splits at Picnic Grove #13. Continue up the hill and turn left at the sign for the Rock Creek Nature Center and Rock Creek Horse Center. Follow the signs and arrows to the left to access the parking area for the Rock Creek Park Nature Center.

​Public Transportation:

• ​Metro stations at Tenleytown-AU and Fort Totten are the closest to the Nature Center.

• ​From the Tenleytown-AU Metro:

  • ​Go to the intersection of Wisconsin and Nebraska Avenues (Metro Stop ID: 1002427)

  • ​Take the C81 bus towards Fort Totten

  • ​Get off the bus at Military Road & Glover Road NW (Metro Stop ID: 1003003)

  • ​The Nature Center is located up the small paved trail.

• ​From the Fort Totten Metro:

  • ​Go to the Ft. Totten Station & Bus Bay D (Metro Stop ID: 1003237)

  • ​Take the C81 bus towards Sibley Hospital

  • ​Get off the bus at Military Road and Oregon Avenue NW.

  • ​Go across Military Road at the crosswalk and follow the small paved trail up to the Nature Center.
