Startup Pitch Lab
Rethinking Where Intelligence Lives
Presented by KWAAI & Kasm Technologies
and VC Sponsors
Monday, August 31, 2026
Format
Live Pitch Session + Webinar Simulcast
Date: Monday Aug 31, 2026
Format: Hybrid Pitch Session
Cohort: Founders / Applicants
Leads to: Sept 23 Investor Session
The Concept
A Working Forum, Not a Pitch Contest
Event 3 turns the AI Leadership Series toward the founders building the next generation of AI-native applications. Rather than a traditional demo day, the Pitch Lab is a working session: selected startups get five minutes to present, followed by live technical and business feedback from the AI Leadership community. The strongest concepts advance to a live investor session on September 23.
The Core Question
“If you’re putting AI into your application, why does that AI have to be centralized?”
The Strategic Opportunity
Most startups treat AI as an API bolted onto an existing application. A more durable approach treats the AI layer itself as a replaceable, architectural decision. KwaaiNet offers a decentralized AI option through an OpenAI- compatible interface, giving founders provider flexibility. Kasm Workspaces offers the secure execution and delivery environment for applications, agents, and AI-enabled workflows.
Target Architecture
Traditional: Application → OpenAI API → Model → Response
AI-Native: Application → AI Abstraction Layer → OpenAI / KwaaiNet / Private Model
Secure AI-Native: User → Kasm Workspace → Application / Agent / Data → AI Provider
The goal is not to prescribe decentralized AI for every use case — it is to give founders a structured opportunity to evaluate whether decentralized intelligence, secure execution, or both produce a better product and a better business.
Five Questions for Every Applicant
What are you building?
Where does AI fit into the application?
What data does the AI need access to?
Why does that AI need to be centralized?
Could decentralized AI and/or a secure Kasm Workspace fundamentally improve the architecture?

VC Corporate Sponsors — A Different Kind of Carrot
Event 3 is where VC corporate sponsors first engage with the cohort — reviewing applicants and observing the pitch feedback ahead of the live investor session. Sponsorship for this series does not run through a cash tier. In place of a sponsorship fee, participating VCs are hosted in a private box at the September 23 Giants vs. Twins game at Oracle Park, immediately following the investor session next door at the South Beach Yacht Club. Full sponsor details are in the standalone Event 3 & 4 VC Sponsor Prospectus
