We will also discuss the current state and future of scientific innovation. A little bit about our speakers:
Leslie Mitchell is a leader in synthetic biology and genome-scale cell engineering. She is the Chief Scientific Officer of Opentrons and a co-founder and General Manager of Neochromosome, Inc., a subsidiary of Opentrons pioneering chromosome-scale cell engineering and synthetic genomics. Previously, Leslie completed her postdoctoral research at NYU Langone Health, where she helped lead the international Synthetic Yeast Genome Project (Sc2.0), the first initiative to design and construct a fully synthetic eukaryotic genome. She holds a Ph.D. in systems biology from the University of Ottawa.
Glennis Mehra, Ph.D. is the Executive Director of BioLabs@NYULangone. She is an accomplished serial entrepreneur, innovation strategy consultant, and angel investor with a proven track record across various industries and geographies. Her expertise encompasses teaching, innovation translation, technology transfer, international business operations, research and development, functional genomics, and algorithm development.
Vikas Malik is an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University, advancing stem cell biology research with a focus on viral resistance and the effects of sleep deprivation on adult stem cells. He also serves as Co-Managing Director for Nucleate NY, empowering life science entrepreneurs to launch innovative startups.
Frederic Sattler is the Head of Science & Lab Solutions (SLS) Commercial for the Americas region. In this role, he is in charge of sales related activities for North America and Latin America, and leads a team of sales representatives, customer excellence and sales support functions. His focus is on maximizing commercial performance, improving customer experience, and driving the organizational evolution through markets and technology trends. Before joining the company, he held controlling and finance manager roles in Roche Diagnostics. Sattler holds a Master’s degree in Finance & Accounting.
