International Generalist Day 2026 🌍

Imagine you could meet new friends who understood your squiggly background? Well, now you can!

Join Dave Mence in Toronto for International Generalist Day — a global celebration happening simultaneously across cities worldwide on September 16th, 2026.

Join fellow generalists for evening drinks while swapping squiggly career stories and sharing advice on career journeys, portfolio careers, and solopreneur/entrepreneurship.

The vibe is "learn something new... about something new... from multi-faceted new friends".

Everyone in the room will be someone with an interesting story, a multi-dimensional background and something fascinating to tell you about that you didn't know before. Soak it in! You might even meet a new friend or two that has something surprising in common with you, but flavoured by a totally different mix of other things!!

All attendees will get a personalized 'talk to me about' name badge, courtesy of formbadger.com, where you can call out your most interesting areas of expertise, hobbies, fields of study and more. A great conversation starter, and a big hit at our last Generalist World Toronto meetup event! Badge request forms will be sent to each registered attendee.

Venue:

This event is being hosted downtown on King St. W near Bathurst St., with easy TTC access and ample parking options. The location will be shared with each of you in your registration confirmations :)

What is a generalist?

Professionals who apply their skills across multiple domains, connect disparate ideas, or serve as "translators" between different teams and disciplines. If you've ever felt your career doesn't fit in a single box, this celebration is for you.

What to expect:

• Connect with fellow Toronto area generalists

• Celebrate the power of diverse skillsets and squiggly careers

• Be part of a global movement happening the same day worldwide

• Swap squiggly career stories and practical advice
