Roundtable Lunch with Asma Khan

​Asma Khan is a restaurateur, author, and activist, and the founder of Darjeeling Express in London. Born in Kolkata, she moved to the UK in 1991 and earned a PhD in British constitutional law at King’s College London. In 2012 she started a supper club in her home, which became one of London’s best-known restaurants, run by an all-women kitchen team. She was the first British chef featured on Netflix’s Chef’s Table and was named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential People.

​Asma has built a global platform for her work on gender equity and fair food systems, including her Second Daughters Fund, her role as a UN World Food Programme Chef Advocate, and appearances at the World Economic Forum. She brings an unconventional founder’s perspective on building a values-driven business across cultures and borders.
