About Event

With the Advance Decision on Life-sustaining Treatment Ordinance officially coming into operation on 31 July 2026, this upcoming CPD session will provide an overview of the law on Advance Medical Directives (AMDs).

An AMD enables an adult with the requisite mental capacity to voluntarily make a written, forward-looking decision regarding life-sustaining treatments, ensuring their healthcare wishes are respected when specific pre-conditions are met in the future.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Nick Tsui, CEO & Co-founder of Alongside. As a registered medical doctor with extensive, hands-on experience in witnessing and advising on AMDs, Dr. Tsui will join Ted Chan to discuss key issues including the role of medical doctors and lawyers, the current public policy on AMDs, potential legal disputes and best practices for advising clients.
