Job Seeker Social for the Career Curious: BINGO! (Gaming the Job Part 1)

​Turn the job search into a game, and make some progress while you’re at it.

​Job searching can be a strange kind of work: there’s always something you could be doing, it’s not always obvious what to do next, and even small tasks can be surprisingly easy to put off when you’re doing them alone.

​So for our second Job Seeker Social, we’re turning the process into a challenge.

​This time, participants will get a Job Search Bingo card filled with concrete, achievable ways to move your search forward - things like updating part of your resume, reaching out to a contact, researching a company, practicing an interview response, applying for a position, asking for feedback, or exploring a career path you’re curious about.

​The goal isn’t to land a job in eight days. It’s to build some momentum, celebrate the steps that often go unrecognized, and make the whole process a little more social and a lot less lonely.

​PART ONE: BINGO KICKOFF + COWORKING

​We’ll kick off the challenge together with an informal evening of co-working, conversation, and mutual support.

​Pick the squares you want to tackle, bring whatever you’ve been meaning to work on, and use the evening to actually get a few things done. Need another set of eyes on a resume? Want to practice talking about yourself without feeling ridiculous? Trying to figure out who to reach out to or what your next move should be? This is a space to work alongside other people figuring it out too.

​You can work independently, ask for feedback, trade ideas, or help someone else check off a square.

​Then take your Bingo card with you and keep playing over the following week.

​Eight days later, we’ll reconvene for a BYO light brunch and hype session.

​Attendance to this is not required for the followup event on September 19th, and vice versa!
