idealist Europe 8/8 Virtual Happiest Hour
What is idealist?
The world is hurting, people are lonely, and it’s becoming harder to make friends. We want to build community, connect with strangers and make life better through kindness and friendship.
Who is running this?
**This is a non-political, non-religious, unfunded global movement that focuses on the human side of humanity — connection through kindness.**
What’s the plan?
Once a month, we do something to make our little corner of the world a better place.
There are in-person events in certain cities, but to make sure everyone can participate — and maybe even start their own local meet-up — we also host a relaxed virtual monthly meet-up with people from all over Europe. It always takes place on a matching date each month: 5/5, 6/6, 7/7, etc.
The monthly Google Meet link is here:
https://meet.google.com/hqz-timn-kjf
If you are running late to the call, please still feel free to drop in — we’ll be happy to have you!
It’s BYOB: tea, coffee, water, beer, wine, milk — whatever beverage makes you happiest (and is age-appropriate, haha).
There are no requirements or expectations. If you are a human being residing in Europe, you are welcome.
Is this only for English speaking people?
While idealist and the idea for idealist is open to everyone of all languages, this event will be in English.
The hope is to have this event bring enough people together from your country where you could make friends and host events in the future in-person or virtually in your language and in your lovely country.
How many people are involved in the idealist movement?
This is a global movement with over 5,000 people across 104 countries. This is the European initiative to bring people together.
What countries are considered Europe?
Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City.
What do I do now?
Please register so we have an idea of the attendance and so you can receive updates about the event.
I can't make it this time, can I still connect?
We will be hosting this event once a month on the same date and month 9/9, 10/10 etc. depending on the day, the time may change. Please come back and see the idealist website each month so you can sign up for the next one.
This linktree will also be kept up to date:
https://linktr.ee/idealistUK
Why is the linktree in the UK?
That is where this larger initiative is home based. However, this virtual event is for all of Europe.
Where can I get more info about idealist Days?
Why is the "i" in idealist sometimes uppercase and sometimes lowercase?
The official branded name is with a lowercase i. However, to people that aren't familiar with idealist, it could look like a typo. :)
