About Event

Swap screen-time for adventure-time!

A school holiday programme for teens aged 13+ who enjoy being outdoors, getting creative and learning practical life skills.

Through a mix of adventure, hands-on learning and nature-based experiences, participants will spend their days on Boschendal grounds between the Food Forest (Western Cape's first agroforestry system), wild trails, dams and cosy indoor creative spaces.

Over the course of the programme, participants will:

Learn fire building and outdoor cooking skills

• Explore foraging, wild edibles and medicinal plants

• Develop food-growing, propagation and seed-saving skills

• Build shelters and learn outdoor survival techniques

• Explore trails by foot and mountain bike

• Discover local wildlife and natural ecosystems

• Create botanical prints, natural cosmetics and nature-inspired artworks

• Take part in collaborative challenges, exploration and adventure

• Enjoy nature-inspired snacks, cordials, teas & an optional vegetarian lunch

Each day follows a different theme, meaning participants are welcome to join for a single day, selected days or the full programme. No two days are the same.
