Valuing Critical Minerals for Circularity

​The Ellen MacArthur Foundation and Buckstop invite you to a curated, invitation-only roundtable during New York Climate Week.

​We are convening the people who decide how critical minerals get valued, financed, and insured: corporate end users and manufacturers, asset recovery/management teams, lenders, and insurers focused on energy and industrial equipment.

​The format is small and attendees are senior-level. A moderator will open with guiding questions to spark discussion, and the conversation stays off the record so participants can speak openly.

​This Roundtable's Context:

​Surging demand and linear supply constraints are creating critical mineral vulnerabilities, with copper alone facing a projected 30% shortfall by 2035 and $63 billion in e-waste metals discarded annually. Transitioning to a circular economy is vital to mitigate supply chain risks, but unlocking circularity requires addressing the core valorization question: establishing what recovered critical minerals are worth, identifying who will underwrite that valuation, and driving the shifts necessary to treat material recovery as a valuable asset rather than a disposal cost. This discussion brings together a closed group of senior-level discussion-makers for a close discussion on what is needed to actualize critical mineral circularity.
