About Event

Right now, immigrant families in our communities are living with fear of detention and of loved ones disappearing without a word. And every day, lawyers, advocates, and community members are stepping up to protect them. This is a night to show up for both.

Maya Migrate is partnering with Global Rights Advocacy for this week’s Giving in the Gardens. For every beer sold during the event, Old Stove will donate $1 to GRA, a nonprofit team of human rights lawyers who fight arbitrary detention and enforced disappearances and make sure people have someone in their corner when it matters most.

Come have a beer, meet the people doing this work, and learn how you can help keep our neighbors safe. There’ll be themed pop-up trivia with Head in the Clouds, and the Maya Migrate team will be there to talk about Digital Rapid Response, our free app that alerts a person’s trusted contacts and lawyer if they miss a check-in.

No tickets needed. Just show up, order a pint, and you’re already giving.

About the organizations

Global Rights Advocacy (GRA) is a Seattle-based nonprofit led by a team of women human rights lawyers seeking justice for victims of human rights abuses, government accountability, and compliance with international law. Their work covers arbitrary detention, enforced disappearances, and business and human rights.

  • Pro Bono Legal Defense: Represents victims of human rights violations and provides access to international human rights mechanisms, including the United Nations, the Inter-American System, and non-judicial grievance processes.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Exposes and documents human rights abuses and the dangers faced by activists and individuals on the front lines.

  • Education & Promotion: Promotes international human rights law and educates the public and stakeholders.

Maya Migrate is a Seattle-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds free, trauma-informed, multilingual digital tools for organizations supporting immigrants and legal service providers. Our first tool, Digital Rapid Response (DRR), is a free wellness-check app that automatically alerts a person’s trusted contacts and legal representative if they miss a scheduled check-in, so families and advocates can act fast in an emergency. DRR is live on the App Store and Google Play. Learn more at mayamigrate.com.

Head in the Clouds Pop-Up Trivia hosts themed trivia nights supporting local nonprofits. [
