About Event

An intimate community conversation about collective grief, shared ritual, and navigating seasons of grief and loss together - hosted by Dimple Dhabalia and BOL Coop Bookstore.

This is a free event but donations are always appreciated.

Full event description:

Grief doesn't just begin and end with death.

It also lives in the heartache of caregiving, illness, and broken relationships — in the loss of a job, the loneliness of aging, the separation from loved ones, the minimization of genocide, the erosion of freedom, the dehumanization of entire populations of people, the degradation of the environment — in all kinds of pain the world rarely stops to honor. And when grief arrives, we've been conditioned to move through it quickly, and on our own.

But we were never meant to navigate seasons of grief and loss alone.

Join Dimple Dhabalia, founder of roots in the clouds and creator of love in action empathy cards, for an evening of community, conversation, and the alchemy that happens when grief is witnessed and held by many instead of one.

This isn't a healing circle. It's a shared space for challenging inherited narratives around grief and loss and looking at them from a different perspective: not as a private wound to manage, but as a human response to both personal loss and systemic harm.

During our time together, we'll explore how giving voice to grief — and honoring it through rituals of empathy and care — fosters common humanity, solidarity, and care. In an era of overlapping crises, these shared experiences become a site of collective power as we learn to hold pain and possibility together.
