Trans-Pennine Connect - Stocksbridge Meeting
The team behind Trans-Pennine Connect, a project to build much-needed new transport links between Sheffield and Manchester, are hosting their first local community event in Stocksbridge!
If you want to hear more about our plans to build a road tunnel under the Peak District and restore the old Woodhead railway line - significantly reducing journey times between two fast-growing cities and cutting down traffic through local villages - then come and join us.
We want to maintain a proper conversation with people who live near the existing roads about how to make sure any new route brings benefits to as many people as possible. We know the status quo is unacceptable for people in the area - this is your chance to help us change that.
The project presentation will run from 6-7pm, but the team will be there until 9pm to ask any further questions or chat to latecomers.
