About Event

Welcome to Program Pulse!

Program Pulse is a peer-led community designed specifically for nonprofit program roles across Fort Worth and Tarrant County. We gather to share real-world challenges, exchange practical tools, and learn from each other in a warm, welcoming environment. No CEUs, no sales pitches, just peer support.

Based on our community vote, our November session will focus on Staff Well-being & Retention: Preventing burnout, supporting staff, and investing in team growth.

We are thrilled to be joined by featured speaker Kathryn Thalken! Kathryn brings a deep wealth of nonprofit leadership experience, having served as a Program Director, Vice President of Programs, and Executive Director. She understands firsthand the unique operational pressures program teams face and is excited to share proven, practical strategies for fostering resilient, supported, and engaged teams.

If you're looking to boost staff morale on a budget, prevent turnover, or build meaningful professional growth pathways for your team, this session is for you.

What We’ll Cover & Discuss:

  • Preventing Burnout: Realistic ways to support staff well-being and set healthy boundaries in high-stress non-profit environments.

  • Supporting Team Growth: Investing in professional development and retention strategies, even with limited budgets.

  • Leadership & Culture: Insights from Kathryn's leadership journey across program management and executive roles.

  • Peer Best Practices & Discussion: Shared wisdom, open dialogue, and practical takeaways from fellow program leaders across Tarrant County.

Who Should Attend:

Nonprofit program managers, directors, coordinators, specialists, and emerging leaders across Tarrant County.

(Note: To maintain a peer-led, practice-focused space, this group is intended for hands-on program roles rather than general fundraising, board, or executive positions. However, we recognize that in some organizations, Executive Directors or CEOs often carry direct responsibility for day-to-day program management and delivery; if that's you, you are very welcome to join!)
