About Event

This panel will be about India Australia engagement in the sports sector and we will be discussing India's capacity building for the Olympics, engagement in the sports tech sector and sports tourism and mega sporting events. 

Speakers: 

1. Emily Rosemond 

Olympian and Director, Sport – Queensland University of Technology

Emily Rosemond is an Olympian and Director of Sport at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), with over 20 years’ experience at the intersection of elite sport, leadership, and innovation. She represented Australia at the 2006 Winter Olympics in short track speed skating and later competed internationally in track cycling, winning multiple world-level medals including a Commonwealth Games bronze.

At QUT, Emily leads the University Sporting Strategy, integrating sport with emerging technologies to enhance performance, access, and engagement. She has led the development of a virtual sports centre, high-impact esports events, and digital-first initiatives supporting regional, remote, and Indigenous communities.

An international consultant and sport delegate, Emily facilitates cross-sector partnerships and co-designed initiatives to advance innovation, equity, and global collaboration in sport. Named one of Australia’s top 100 innovators in sports technology in 2023, she combines elite sporting experience with a focus on designing systems that create lasting impact.

2. Ned Coten

Executive Chair and President, EngageRM, Former President and Chair of Basketball Australia

Ned Coten is the Executive Chair & President of EngageRM, a leading Automation, CRM, and Data Analytics platform trusted by some of the world’s biggest names in sport and entertainment. In this role, he helps global organisations unlock deeper fan engagement, streamline operations, and create new revenue opportunities through technology and innovation.

A former athlete and experienced sports executive, Ned is the immediate past President of Basketball Australia and maintains an active global presence in the sport as a contributor to basketball’s world governing body, FIBA. His career has spanned more than 35 years as a CEO, investor, and director across sport, consumer brands, technology, and property. He is also the founder and owner of two successful self‑storage businesses in Melbourne and an active mentor for emerging business leaders.

Ned’s leadership journey includes CEO roles in several of Australia’s premier sporting organisations and directorships across multiple companies. He brings deep expertise in leadership, governance, consumer branding, sales, and marketing. He holds an MBA from the University of New South Wales and is the author of a book on branding and marketing in sport. On the court, Ned represented Australia at the World Junior Basketball Championships and played briefly in the National Basketball League. He also co‑founded the Goldfields Giants in Western Australia’s State Basketball League. Throughout his life, he has remained a passionate volunteer, committed to serving sport and community at all levels.

Ned continues to be recognised as a leader who blends hands‑on sports experience with strategic insight, business acumen, and a global outlook, making him a strong advocate for the role of sport in driving meaningful social and economic impact.

3. Dr. Kenneth Graham

Dr. Kenneth Graham has over 30 years of experience in Australian High-Performance Sport, including 14 years as Principal Scientist at the NSW Institute of Sport. He has worked with Olympic and World Championship medal-winning athletes and held senior roles across national sporting organisations, universities, and industry. A recognised innovator, he has led projects in hypoxic training systems, aerial sport performance, and product development with partners such as Coca-Cola. At eo, Kenneth focuses on identifying future trends in sport and guiding research and development to ensure products are fit for purpose, helping athletes perform at their best today and into the future.

4. Panel curator and chair- Molina Asthana

National Chair, Sport, Art and Culture, AIBC, President and Chair Handball Australia and Deputy Chair, Table Tennis Victoria

Molina is an experienced lawyer and board member/chair. Molina is the Chair of Handball Victoria, the Chair of the Australian Football league Southeast Regional Advisory Council, Deputy Chair of Table Tennis Victoria and Gymnastics Victoria immediate past Chair. She is also the founder of the organisation Multicultural Women in Sport and co-founder of the Asian Australian Alliance . She is the National Chair of the Sport, Art and Culture Industry Chapter of the Australia India Business Council.

She is a Cricket Australia Ambassador. She has also been a Change Our Game Ambassador for the State of Victoria. an AFL Ambassador, Commonwealth Games Ambassador and Jean Hailes Women’s Health Ambassador and an ambassador of the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup.

Molina is a member of the Australian Sports Commission Play Well Leadership Group and was a member of the Australian Sports Commission Sport Volunteer Coalition. She is a member of the Football Federation of Victoria Tribunal, Cricket Victoria Tribunal and the Victorian Amateur Football League Tribunal.

In India, she serves as an advisory board member of the Centre for Sports and Entertainment Law at the Gujarat National Law University, the advisory board member of Alpha Sports Academy, Bihar,  advisory board member of Sport4 Her Initiative of the Abhinav Bindra Foundation and advisory member of the Association of Sports Industry Professionals.
