About Event

What this is

A day of food and shared inquiry.

A small group gathers around a table to explore philosophical and psychological questions through food, guided reflection, practices and presence.

  • Maximum of 12 people.

  • An abundant, seasonal brunch will be served throughout the day: fresh-baked bread, sweet and savory pastries, cheeses, jams, dips, and a variety of warm and fresh vegetable dishes, alongside tea, coffee, and refreshing kombuchas.

  • Phones away to protect attention.

  • The day unfolds slowly (around 4–5 hours).

Theme - Journey of Self-love

Self-love is often misunderstood as something we either have or don’t. But what if it is something we practice?

How we speak to ourselves, how we respond to our own needs, how we hold ourselves in moments of doubt, effort, or celebration..

At this Sharing Table, we approach self-love as an ongoing journey.

Through food and shared presence, we explore how we relate to ourselves with more care, honesty, and curiosity.

This time, we gather for an all-day brunch, with guiding questions and paired practices.

About Sharing Table

Meaningful conversations often happen around a table. And yet, many of our conversations today can feel rushed and distracted. We crave depth and presence, but don’t always know how to create it.

Sharing Table creates a space where food becomes a medium for examining philosophical and psychological questions together.

Space & Practice

At the table, we are witnessed without advice.

Contradictions are allowed to exist without needing to be resolved. We are not here to fix each other, but to listen and respond with curiosity.

Each table begins with a theme. The questions and the food are shaped around it.

The structure is intentional and responsive. The pace adjusts. The depth is shaped by the people at the table.

Perspective

Self-love is often reduced to affirmation or endless self-care, but it asks for something deeper.

We are often taught to be humble, but not how to hold our own worth without diminishing it.

This table is inspired by Erich Fromm (The Art of Loving), bell hooks (All About Love), Gabor Maté (The Myth of Normal), Friedrich Nietzsche (amor fati), Hartmut Rosa (resonance theory), and Kristin Neff & Christopher Germer (mindful self-compassion).

Across these perspectives, self-love is treated as a way of relating to oneself, which is shaped through attention, compassion, and the willingness to stay in contact with one’s own experience, even when it is imperfect or uncomfortable.

"Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare" - Audre Lorde.
