Effective Altruism Slovakia Meet-up (SK/EN)

LOCATION UPDATE due to weather: Balans bistro, Jozefska 19, Bratislava

What if the most important question you could ask was: how can I do the most good?

Effective Altruism (EA) is a global movement built on a simple but powerful idea, that by thinking carefully and acting on evidence, each of us can have a dramatically larger positive impact on the world. It's not about doing something good. It's about doing the most good possible.

We're gathering to form a community of EA Slovakia, a community rooted in intellectual curiosity, ambition, and genuine care for the world. This is your invitation to be part of it.

What are we building?

Community & knowledge. A community for people who want to think seriously about global challenges. We plan to host regular meetups, as well as lectures, workshops, or potentially also facilitate career consultation, book clubs and organize conferences.

Support for high-impact endeavours. Support for entrepreneurs, researchers, and students exploring high-impact ideas and career paths. We also plan to offer free one-on-one consultations on EA career paths, opportunities, and effective giving.

Part in the global movement. Participation in international conferences, working groups, and international projects.

Join us for this meetup. Come curious. Come with your questions. We'll introduce the ideas, share the plans, and start building together.

Who is this for

This is for students wondering how to choose a career that actually matters. For professionals who want their work to count for more. For entrepreneurs and researchers chasing ambitious ideas with real-world impact. For donors who want their giving to go further. And for anyone who has ever felt that caring about the world should mean more than good intentions, and wants to think rigorously about how to turn that care into results.

You don't need a background in philosophy, economics, or charity work. You just need curiosity and a willingness to question your assumptions. Whether you're already deep into EA ideas or just hearing about them for the first time, there's a place for you here.
