TMC Deep Dive | Expanding Leaders’ Influence and Impact Through Non-Profit Board Experience
As complexity and pace of change increase, organizations are rethinking how they develop leaders for scale, ambiguity, and influence. Traditional training alone is rarely sufficient; many leaders need experiences that stretch them into unfamiliar contexts with new constraints, stakeholders, and expectations.
One approach gaining momentum is nonprofit board service, which places leaders n roles that require strategic perspective, influence without authority, and navigation of governance dynamics that differ meaningfully from day-to-day executive work.
What We’ll Explore Together
In this interactive session, Youth INC – a non-profit that uses a venture philanthropy model to support more than 85 youth-development organizations across NYC – will share how nonprofit board service can be intentionally designed as a leadership development lever. Participants will explore how to match leaders to board roles, establish guardrails, and translate board experience into enterprise-level growth – creating value for leaders, organizations, and nonprofit partners alike.
This session is open to invited guests. TMC members are welcome to extend an invitation to a peer who would benefit from the conversation.
