material chess is a chess night to see how people make chess their own.

chess can be anything, and you can play it anywhere.

come dressed as chess: a king, a queen, a knight, all black, all white, a blunder, a checkmate. however you read it.

bring pieces or a board you made. rocks, caps, candy, office supplies. if it can sit on a square, it's a piece.

we'll have boards on the floor, a few sets of our own, music and modelo.

come play a stranger, watch a game, or wander the room moving only diagonally. all levels, all outfits, all pieces welcome.
