Hello Young Friends and Families of,
You are formally invited to the first Young Friends retreat of the new cycle, themed: transitions and who we may become.
Our Fall retreat is often a time of re-gathering, of new life in the face of the old. We have said goodbye to some members of our community who have aged up just as we say goodbye to this former year, as the seasons change and prepare us for the eventual new life that will come in the blooming season. But first we must get there.
Saying goodbye to before is in equal part saying hello to now. We welcome new faces into our community, (could be you) and we start fresh, creating/recreating this very community we are invited to be a part of. Your voice matters in that, so we welcome you!
Retreats are a weekend gathering spending time overnight often at a meeting house where we'll gather, sing, game, hang, walk, play, have some workshops, have some worshipful silence, and slumber-party our way through community building. We are a community that strives towards inclusivity, welcoming, and deepening. If any of that sounds like a fit for you (or something you'd like to give a try), come visit Young Friends!
This year's fall retreat will be held at Portland Friends Meeting the weekend of October 23rd-25th for New England Yearly Meeting's first official Young Friends retreat of the new cycle!

Pricing for the retreat is pay-as-led sliding scale. $50 is great if budgets are tight. $100 covers food and supply expenses. $101-200+ covers direct expenses, supports program sustainability, and helps others participate at a reduced fee. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
