Bike kitchen #1 - Reparații de iarnă
“2026 – The Year of the Bicycle in Timișoara” has gotten off to a successful start, and we are kicking off the first edition of this year's workshop series:
What exactly is a Bike Kitchen?
Unlike a traditional bike repair shop where you leave your bike and come back for it, a Bike Kitchen provides you with the tools, space, and know-how to repair your bike yourself.
❄️ The first edition focuses on winter repairs and spring preparation after a winter in which your bike has been stored or ridden in wet conditions. And if you have a bike that has been sitting on your balcony for a long time, now is the time to bring it out of hibernation!
Detailed program:
🕑 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., in the lobby of the Youth Center (Casa Tineretului)
📌 How to fix a bike: Introductory workshop on bicycle mechanics and basic repairs.
📌 Fix your own bike: Repair your bike with technical support and access to tools.
📌 Cycling cycle table: Space for exchanging and reusing equipment, parts, and tools.
📌 Cycling talks couch: Exchange ideas and experiences about cycling.
🕕 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Start: in front of the Youth Center (Casa Tineretului)
🚴♀️🚴 Bike test: Bike tour to test what you learned and repaired in the workshops.
