Spotlight: Meet the Midwives
Please join us on Wednesday April 29th for a special event and a chance to be face to face with midwives shaping the future of birth in our communities. Working in hospitals, birth centers, homes, and even with students of midwifery. Ask questions, build relationships, and discover what midwifery-led care could mean for you or someone you love with an outstanding group of panelists.
Panelists include:
Eugenia Montesinos – Midwife, Co‑Chair of NYC Midwives, and Inaugural Director of Midwifery at NYU Langone.
Trinisha Williams – Midwife and birth center leader with experience across hospital, birth center, and home birth settings.
LaShawna King – Home birth midwife and member of the New York City Home Birth Midwives Collective.
Dayna Hernandez — Certified Professional Midwife, a Licensed Midwife in New Jersey and co-founder of OMNI Community Birth Collective.
Denise Wharton – Director of Midwifery at North Central Bronx Hospital and state‑level advisor on midwifery and maternal health.
Estefany Angeles – Midwifery student, doula, and alumni and mentor of The Birthing Place’s Conscious Birth Collective.
Anew is a gathering space and discovery center for the social impact community.
The Birthing Place Foundation is a future birth center offering midwifery-led collaborative care. They're currently one of the Entrepreneurs-in-Residence at Anew.
