For my 42nd birthday, I’m inviting you to step out of the ordinary and into The Apotheosis Masquerade Ball — an evening of music, dinner, ideas, and dancing.
This is Act III of WEEK 42: 42 Hours with MEi — a week -42- hour Hero’s Journey where you can choose your own adventure.

🎼 THE ORGAN CONCERT
St Clara Church - 18:00
We begin beneath the vaulted arches of St Clara Church with an organ concert featuring the music of J. S. Bach and César Franck.
A moment to pause.
To listen.
To let the ordinary fall away.
And when the final note fades, our ascent begins.
↑ THE ASCENT
Swedish Society for Medicine - 19:00
Just next door, we cross the threshold.
Then we climb.
Step by step, floor by floor, towards the top.
Following the architectural footsteps of Carl Westman, we move through the building towards our evening's highest chamber.
The destination is not simply another room.
It is above.
The character 藥 (yào in Mandarin) is the traditional Chinese character for medicine, remedy. It’s made of 艹 (grass radical) and 樂 (music, joy). Together, they express the idea of healing through plants and harmonious balance.

19:30 Dinner time — and a table full of curious people.
But this is not merely dinner.
It is a ceremonial table for conversation, curiosity and coincidence.
A chance to meet a stranger aka a friend from the future; to exchange ideas between courses.
And perhaps to discover that the best conversations are the ones that were never planned.

The books are watching. The questions are open. The floor is yours.
The Salon is a gathering of words, ideas and unexpected connections.
Poet Tom G (@drifting_poetry) will open the space with poetry, before the floor opens to you — for an open mic of poems, stories, performances, questions, provocations and beautiful disagreements.
No podium. No panel. No correct answers.
Just curious minds in good company.
Bring a question you've been carrying.
Bring an idea you can't stop thinking about.
Bring a beautiful disagreement.
Or simply come prepared to listen.
There may be answers.
There may be arguments.
There may be absolutely no conclusion.
And that, perhaps, is the point.
