About Event

Join our annual legal update, designed to help admissions professionals stay current on the issues shaping independent school admissions. Rather than a broad overview of admissions law, this session will focus on what has changed, what schools should be paying attention to now, and what emerging issues may require a closer look.

The conversation will explore a range of timely issues, including emerging legal considerations around the use of AI in admissions and decision-making; recent developments related to financial aid; discrimination, bias, and protected classes in admissions; legal obligations and best practices around disability accommodations; admissions records, confidentiality, data privacy, and information sharing; and the unique considerations involved in communicating with separated or divorced parents. We’ll also look at social media and the legal questions schools should be thinking about when applicants, parents, or others engage with or are discussed online.

This practical and timely session will give admissions professionals an opportunity to hear directly from counsel about the evolving legal landscape and consider how recent developments may affect their policies, practices, and day-to-day work.
