Shichirin & stars, a Saturday night at Tsumagoi Work & Camp (嬬恋牧場Work&Camp).
Light charcoal in a shichirin, toast dried fish or mochi, and look up at the night sky. We are still beginners with both shichirin and stars. Bring your food, gather round the fire and take it slow, up in the winter mountains.
THE EVENING
17:00–21:00. Stay guests can check in from 12:00.
We lend diatomite shichirin grills and light the first charcoal in each. The shichirin stay outdoors.
If the sky is clear, we look for stars from beside the fire; some nights are cloudy. The field is unlit at night, with no homes or buildings within 7 km.
Bring your own food and drink (dried fish, mochi, yakitori, mushrooms and so on). The hosts supply no food. If you share a dish, label its allergens on a card.
Bring your own drinks; we do not sell alcohol. Nobody drives after drinking, so stay the night.
Free if you stay that night at Work&Camp, Camp or on a car stay: pick the 'Staying with us that night' ticket on Luma and give your reservation name.
Your own gear and fuel are welcome. The shop sells firewood (¥1,000 a basket), charcoal (about 3 kg, ¥1,500), fire starters, cans ¥200 and bottles ¥250 (cash, card or PayPay).

Dress for deep winter: even November's normal low is −0.7 °C (JMA Tashiro), and December is colder. Bring a light.
IT RUNS IF IT FILLS
This night runs if 4 walk-in tickets are paid for by Wed 2 Dec, 20:00 JST. If not, we call it off and you choose: a full refund, or a free bonfire night instead. We tell you by 21:00 that day. Stay bookings stand either way. With "Require approval" on, your card is only held, and never charged if the night does not run.
CANCELLING YOURSELF
Message us before Wed 2 Dec, 20:00 JST. After that we can't refund.
WEATHER
If a heavy-rain, storm or heavy-snow warning is out, we call it off by 18:00 the day before and refund in full.
