Diktador! Playtest: A Role-Playing Card Game on Power, Resistance, and Memory
Join Games for Change Hong Kong on September 8 for an exclusive playtest session of Diktador!, an upcoming role-playing game set in the era of the Philippine Martial Law, featuring and facilitated by the designers themselves!
Diktador! is a role-playing card game that immerses players in the tense realities of the Philippine Martial Law (1972–1986). Through historical campaigns, sector-based roles, and difficult choices, players experience how ordinary people navigate authoritarian rule, surveillance, propaganda, repression, and resistance.
In every session, players take on the roles from different sectors and respond to situations inspired by real historical events. With situations controlled by the Diktador (Dictator), players must help each other make decisions, form alliances, confront consequences, and explore the risks and possibilities of resistance.
More than a game, Diktador! creates a space for historical reflection, dialogue, and collective learning. It invites players to examine how power shapes our choices, how people respond to injustice, and why remembering history matters.
