Prototyping Infrastructure for Data Sharing 1: Minimum Viable Data Standards
At Data for Action, we are part of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation Insight Infrastructure project. Our first step of this was the workshop we held on 13th July 2023. You can read all about what we did and what people said here.
Now that we've had a chance to reflect on these discussions, we’re beginning to identify some discrete areas to explore in more detail through the next stage of the project…
This workshop will focus on prototyping ideas related to the priority area of Minimum Viable 'Data Standards' in the context of data sharing. This session is intended for charities and civil society organisations whose work is the understanding of - or response to - poverty in the UK. We welcome attendees with either a national or more local level focus.
More specifically, we will be exploring the following questions:
What is the simplest way to implement a headline ‘data standard’ that enables organisations to contribute their data alongside others in a meaningful way without onerous changes to internal processes?
Are there different ‘levels’ of standard which relate to frequency of data contribution and expectations around quality or format?
This workshop will be online and encourage active participation.
