​Originally from Germany, Mathias came to the US in 1994 to play college tennis, eventually settling in Austin, Texas in 2006. In 2014, he bootstrapped woom bikes USA from a garage startup into a $25M brand in under six years, raising double-digit millions along the way to fuel growth. He then led woom's merger into a $100M+ global business, stepping in as CEO and managing a team of over 200 employees across more than 30 markets.
Mathias has lived the full founder journey: building a brand from scratch, scaling it through rapid growth, navigating a merger, and running a global operation, with all the long nights, cash flow crunches, and hard decisions that come with it. Today he coaches and advises business owners and executives on how to grow their companies without losing themselves in the process.
