Alameda Beach Hangout
Sometimes healing looks like conversation. Sometimes it looks like quiet. Sometimes it looks like putting pen to paper & sometimes it looks like being together.
We originally wanted to host in July but after realizing we didn’t give our community enough time notice, we decided to postpone so more folks would have the opportunity to come.
Join Us for a slow summer evening at Alameda Beach.
We'll have optional journaling prompts inspired by healing, identity, and coming home to ourselves, but there's absolutely no expectation to write. The heart of ROOT is gathering in community. Whether you spend the evening journaling, walking along the shoreline, watching the sunset, sharing conversation, or simply enjoying the beach, you're welcome exactly as you are.
ROOT is a recovery centered community for Black & Brown trans and gender expansive folks. We recognize that recovery can take many forms and our gatherings are intentionally substance free, sober friendly, and welcoming to those who are sober, sober curious, practicing harm reduction, or exploring what recovery means for them.
Bring a blanket, snacks, water, a journal, and anything else that helps you feel at home.
