12MIN.ME | BERLIN | HIRE 😍 #4
Dear 12min.me Berlin Community,
Are you ready for 12min.me HiRe #4?
12min.me HIRE explores the topics shaping HR, People & Culture and the future of work. This time, we are looking at a capability that influences how teams collaborate, how organisations navigate change and how decisions are made: facilitation.
Our Session Partner is Facilitator Feierabend.
Facilitator Feierabend connects people working in or interested in facilitation, moderation, mediation, training and coaching. Its purpose: bringing together people who bring people together. The community is active in eight German cities and creates space for peer exchange, support and professional development.
Together we are bringing three very different perspectives to the stage.
Speaker #1: Christoph Brosius, Case Facilitator & Program Curator, independent
“The Question You'd Never Have Asked — Why Good Facilitation Condenses Other People's Stories”
The most helpful questions of Christoph's career rarely came from the industry he was working in. They were hidden in other people's stories. In twelve minutes, he shares moments when a question from world A suddenly delivered a new answer in world B — and explores why great facilitation condenses somebody else's story until exactly that one question remains.
Christoph is a case facilitator, curator and coach. His experience across advertising, television, film, game production and e-mental health taught him to translate stories between contexts. He has coached more than 100 teams and curates cross-sector programmes including Das Relevante Museum and GiG — Games & Gamification in Healthcare. Certified in Harvard's Teaching with Cases, he designs immersive case-based learning experiences.
Speaker #2: Tal Uscher, Managing Director, Agiliana GmbH
“THE MOUNTAIN TEST — Why Smart People Make Irrational Decisions in Transformations”
On a mountain, we constantly adjust our decisions to reality. In transformations, we often defend the roadmap instead. The Mountain Test is an interactive reality check: the audience faces the same decisions first on a hike, then in a transformation. Research on planning fallacy, confirmation bias, sunk costs and psychological safety helps explain why smart people behave so differently once the hiking boots come off.
Tal has more than 25 years of experience in strategy, organisational development and transformation across business and the public sector. His work focuses on participatory transformation, organisational design and turning strategy into execution.
Speaker #3: Christine Wank, Founder & Director, Generative Facilitation Institute
“What a Difference a ‘C’ Makes: From Stuck to Creativity with Generative Facilitation”
What becomes possible when facilitation does more than manage a process — and starts creating the conditions for something genuinely new? Christine's talk explores how generative facilitation can help people, teams and organisations move from stuck to creative.
