About Event

The same behaviour can be perceived as respect by one person and as dismissal by another. A direct comment lands as honesty to one teammate and as an attack to the next. Silence reads as space to one person and as being shut out to another.

Interacting is the teamscape® dimension that maps how team members build trust and how they handle disagreement. It runs across two axes:

  1. Task <> Relationship: whether trust is earned through delivery or through personal connection.

  2. Direct <> Indirect: whether disagreement gets said outright or signaled through context.

This session is for you if any of the following is familiar:

  • Your team has recurring conflict or communication breakdown, where people feel unheard, talked over, or like they are constantly misreading each other.

  • Your team is newly formed, or has just added people, and has not yet set explicit norms for how it disagrees or builds trust.

  • Your team gets along on the surface, but avoids the hard conversation, so nothing difficult ever actually gets said. Or one person is consistently underheard, or one person consistently dominates, and nobody has been able to name why.

In this live, in-person lab, you will:

  1. Locate your own default: do you earn trust by proving you deliver, or by building a personal connection first? Do you say what you mean outright, or read the room and expect others to do the same?

  2. Work a real-time scenario in a small group: with different defaults than yours, and notice exactly where that difference creates friction, and where it creates relief.

  3. Leave with one concrete way to adjust how you raise something with your own team.

Designed for team leads, coaches, consultants, and anyone who has watched two good-faith teammates talk past each other and wanted to understand why.

*This is a low-tech event: participants will be asked to leave their phones in their bags.

Expect good conversations, lots of art, movement and music.

Hosted by Jeremy Brian and Jörg Schmitz (The Inclusive Leadership Institute), with a grounding practice by Marcelina Drozd (Heartwork Space).
