About Event

The latest wave of advances in AI has grabbed the world’s attention, notably with performance surpassing humans at several key measures. From the perspective of solutionists and builders in Silicon Valley, what can be done? The space for foundational models is packed with well capitalized players. The headlines are creating a sense of urgency to innovate within enterprises. But the vast parts of the global economy isn’t even digitized, much less already incorporating AI.

We believe the more immediate gain is to focus on distributing AI. This is especially true for industry-specific verticals, where enterprise use cases require tailored solutions. Incumbents often lack the agility or ready know-how to develop AI-enabled solutions in-house in a timely manner. There is immense opportunity to build and capture these markets.

What are the blockers to do so? We propose a series of dining groups focused on connecting talent and capital to critical verticals insiders, such as healthcare, defense, and supply chain, to name a few.

Our next dinner in August 2023 will be on the Healthcare vertical. AI can assist with diagnosis, note-taking, patient check-ins, health logs, consultations, and so much more. We invite you to join us as we explore how AI can turn a new page in this trillion-dollar industry.

Format

  • This is part of a small-group dinner series. Each dinner will focus on the application of AI to a specific industry.

    • Our August focus is Healthcare

    • We invite industry vertical insiders to provide insights to capital and technology providers, focused on industry-specific needs and their bottlenecks.

  • Each dining group will have 8-12 people

    • Past invitee backgrounds included universities like Stanford, Oxford, Harvard and MIT, research labs like OpenAI, DeepMind and Anthropic, startups like Scale, Anduril and Hugging Face, financial institutions like Thiel Macro, Goldman Sachs and Bridgewater, and venture capitalists like a16z, Lux and Softbank Vision Fund.

  • Space is limited. We will confirm with invitees with further instruction.

    • We hope to stay in touch even if we cannot accommodate you at a particular dinner!
