8 Week Feedback Group: Spring 2026
A weekly feedback group designed for writers to elevate their skills, workshop their stories, and prepare for submissions!
If you’re a pre-published or early-career writer with a vision in mind, this group is built for you.
This isn’t a drop-in critique circle. It’s a small cohort where every page gets serious attention, and every discussion is anchored to what you want your work to become!
How it works
You’ll submit your work alongside a short preface—your goals, your concerns, your intended audience.
Your peers will arrive having read and annotated your piece.
Our facilitator keeps the conversation focused on your specific goals, so feedback turns into clear, actionable plans.
What you’ll gain
2-4 full-group workshop sessions, depending on cohort size, where your draft is the main event.
The accountability of peers who are just as invested in their writing as you are.
A repeatable framework for revision you can apply even after the workshop ends.
How your writing will change
You’ll write with sharper intent.
You’ll find clearer alignment between purpose and audience.
You’ll walk away with practical strategies to take early drafts closer to polished, publishable work.
Why join now?
The group is limited to 12 writers. By committing, you’re joining a circle of writers who are ready to move beyond tinkering and actually finish.
This sessions expert host, and group facilitator, is Eli Ryder.
Eli is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Austin Community College. He has appeared as a panelist and podcast guest for several venues discussing both the craft of writing and the thrill of dark fiction.
His horror and sci-fi has appeared in numerous online, in-print, and audio publications, and his plays have appeared on stage in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
He is a Roswell Award honoree and stole his M.F.A. from U.C. Riverside. He plays D&D, has the best kid ever, and is an avid lover of all things spooky.
We will be meeting every Thursday (6pm-8pm) on the following dates:

April 30
May 7
May 14
May 21

Note: If you miss a session, no worries! If you must miss multiple sessions in a row, we can't review your work the following week out of fairness to those who are present.
