Women Changemakers Gathering in Sidemen Bali
A safe place for women changemakers (and aspiring women changemakers) to meet one another;
A small-scale gathering where you can genuinely connect — and actually spend time working alongside one another;
A community where you don’t just network, but show up as you are and participate equally as an agent of change;
A space to share what you’re working on, exchange ideas, offer support, and spark new collaborations;
A tribe you can return to — to build trust, intergenerational friendships, and a shared sense of momentum.
This is what this gathering is about.
We’re gathering women and non-binary changemakers for a slower, more inward rhythm — a day of mindful walking, mindful eating, and deep presence amidst the green embrace of Sidemen in Bali.
This 24th Women Changemakers Gathering organized by Carmen Chan of Girls Be Change will be co-hosted with Debby Handoko of SUKHA Container Cabin and Karina Russell of Mycelia Sister. Together, we invite you to pause from the momentum of doing and reconnect with the heart of being — with yourself, with nature, and with one another.
It’s an intentionally crafted gathering where presence itself is the facilitator — through shared silence, grounded conversation, and the simple act of walking and eating together with care.
SUKHA Container Cabin is a harmonious micro-living space inspired by intentional living, intrinsic happiness, and permaculture — the perfect place to slow down and re-remember what truly sustains us.

What is Women Changemakers Community Series?
The idea began in the summer of 2023 when two changemakers in Hong Kong, Carmen Chan (Girls Be Change) and Dorothy Lam (Dream Impact), questioned and envisioned what an ideal community is. We need a safe place among women changemakers to have organic meetups, intentional conversations and idea exchange with social ease, find inspirations and encouragement from each other, and build authentic friendships and support networks.
The first Women Changemakers Community Gathering was held in Hong Kong on March 8, 2024 at International Women’s Day. Ever since then, Girls Be Change partnered with 40+ organizations and gathered 400+ women changemakers in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kenya, and Tanzania, Denmark, Peru, and the US. With 20+ gatherings around the globe, a vibrant community of global women changemakers was formed and connected virtually to raise questions, exchange ideas, and celebrate wins.

Carmen Chan | Girls Be Change
Carmen Chan is a people-driven entrepreneur whose journey—from creative ventures to social impact—culminates in founding Girls Be Change. This social business empowers women as explorers and changemakers after a decade leading her prior successes, Studio C and Carmen Chan Jewelry.
Fueled by a decade of entrepreneurial grit and years of solo travel as a woman, Carmen infused Girls Be Change with a passion to empower girls and women to explore and lead changes. Its core initiatives ignite transformation and solidarity: Impact Expeditions for Women, leading women to venture into wild frontiers like the Peruvian Amazon alongside women conservationists or Northern Thailand's women-lead social business and indigenous wisdom; and a Global Women Changemakers Community, a safe space where women leaders share vulnerabilities and spark bold ideas. Since 2024, it has gathered over 300 women across Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kenya, Tanzania, Denmark, Peru, and the USA, with over 40 partners.

Karina Russell | Mycelia Sister
Mycelia Sister is a nature-rooted wellness movement devoted to helping people reclaim sovereignty over their health not through trends or elitism, but through reconnection
My mission is to empower individuals to understand our bioindividual experience, and to reconnect humans to nature as both metaphor and medicine. There is divinity on your plate. Divinity in the common bush plant. The sacred is closer than we think.
Mycelia Sister debunks the myth that wellness is a luxury. Through accessible, nature-based approaches and a commitment to inclusive models like sliding scale offerings, it makes health literacy and reconnection available to all.
We are not machines, we are ecosystems. And when we see ourselves through the lens of nature, healing becomes a remembering.
