The Speakers
Annie Stewart: Annie co-founded ANTA with her husband Lachlan in 1984. What began as a small design partnership grew into one of Scotland's best-known home furnishing brands. ANTA creates textiles and ceramic stoneware inspired by the Scottish landscape and seasons, with every piece still designed and hand-made in ANTA's Highlands factory. Annie will share the real story of building a Scottish maker business over four decades: the craft, the pivots, and what it takes to grow while staying true to your roots.
Sandy Kennedy: At the launch of this new community, Sandy will be speaking about the ‘Power of the Network’. Why do some networks turn into real opportunities, while others just stay contacts on LinkedIn? Sandy Kennedy brings a career spent in entrepreneurship, growth and connecting people. A former lawyer, investor, entrepreneur and CEO, he is now an executive at Intelligent Growth Solutions and a non-executive director at Elevator and Enlighten. Sandy will dig into the science behind networks… why they work, how the strongest ones are built, and practically, how to work yours well.
We will also have a Meet the Maker panel discussion with:
Lee Walls: Founder, Wild Changer https://wildchanger.com
Eilidh Earle-Mitchell: Founder, EAEM Studio https://www.eaemstudio.com
Islay Brown: Founder, Designed by Islay https://www.designedbyislay.co.uk
