October SCGIS Rock Creek Park Hike
Come join us for a hike through Rock Creek Park and enjoy the beautiful Fall weather!
Where and When
We will be meeting near East Entrance of the Zoo at 5:00 PM, October 13th. Please navigate to the GPS point we have dropped in the map and hyperlinked here.
We will wait for stragglers until 5:10, and then we will begin our ~1 hour hike, 2 miles.
What to wear/bring
The weather is looking perfect but bring or wear comfy walking shoes that can handle mild mud due to the rain over the weekend. Most of the "stick" of the lollipop route we chose is paved but we the loop will be dirt.
There will not be a place to store your work bag so you will need to either carry your stuff or leave at your home/office.
Getting there
Metro:
This is accessible by the Green Line (Columbia Heights station, ~15-20min walk) or the Red Line (Woodley Park/Zoo station, ~20min walk)
Driving:
There is street parking in Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. Can usually find good free parking on Irving or Kenyon near Adams Mill Rd, which it's then a short walk down to the meeting point from there.
