About Event

A safe place for women and non-binary changemakers (and aspiring ones) to meet one another;

A small-scale gathering where you can genuinely connect — and actually spend time working alongside one another;

A community where you don't just network, but show up as you are and participate equally as an agent of change;

A space to share what you're working on, exchange ideas, offer support, and spark new collaborations;

A tribe you can return to — to build trust, intergenerational friendships, and a shared sense of momentum.

This is what this gathering is about.

Co-hosted by Petra Tamas of Wellnest and Ruth Bezzina of Common Routs, and facilitated by Girls Be Change, this Women Changemakers Gathering is an intimate gathering for women changemakers and aspiring changemakers to slow down, go inward, and be heard. This time, we’re coming together for The Deeper Self: Story Circle & Drum Journey — an invitation to reconnect with the wise, instinctual self within each of us.

Change doesn't always start out there. Often it begins quietly, within ourselves — when we reconnect with the part of us that already knows what we need. This gathering is a space to slow down and listen inward, so the change we make in our own lives can ripple outward to the people and world around us.

What we'll do:

🥁 Women's womb drum journey — Led by Petra. The steady beat of the drum guides us inward to ground, breathe, and reconnect with our bodies and the wisdom they hold.

🐺 La Loba story workshop — Led by Ruth. Through the story of La Loba from Clarissa Pinkola Estés' Women Who Run with the Wolves, with a guided meditation and discussion notes, we explore the deep, instinctual self that lives inside every woman.

⭕ Story & trust circle — A talking circle to share what surfaced, listen to one another, and hold space with care. Share as much or as little as you like.

This space is for you if you're craving genuine connection, if you want to be seen and heard by a community of women changemakers who get it — and if you believe that meaningful change begins with reconnecting with ourselves.

Limited to 15 participants. An intimate gathering built around connection, story and sound — not a panel or presentation.

Language: English

Contribution: To help keep this community gathering going, we suggest a donation of €15–30, paid in cash on the day. Give what feels right for you — every contribution helps us keep creating these spaces.

What is the Women Changemakers Community Series?

The idea began in the summer of 2023 when two changemakers in Hong Kong, Carmen Chan (Girls Be Change) and Dorothy Lam (Dream Impact), questioned and envisioned what an ideal community looks like. We need a safe place among women changemakers to have organic meetups, intentional conversations, and idea exchange with social ease — to find inspiration and encouragement from each other, and build authentic friendships and support networks.

The first Women Changemakers Community Gathering was held in Hong Kong on March 8, 2024 at International Women's Day. Ever since then, Girls Be Change has partnered with 40+ organizations and gathered 400+ women changemakers in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Kenya, Tanzania, Denmark, Malta, Peru, and the US. With 30+ gatherings around the globe, a vibrant community of global women changemakers has been formed and connected — raising questions, exchanging ideas, and celebrating wins.
