Ruthless Dating Masterclass: The Observe and Assess Approach to Dating on Your Terms
Ruthless Dating Masterclass
From confused and emotionally caught up to clear, discerning and in control of your choices.
Why “ruthless”?
When you’re used to being overly accommodating, giving endless chances or putting someone else’s feelings ahead of your own needs, choosing yourself can feel ruthless.
This masterclass is for women who recognise patterns of people-pleasing, anxious attachment or overgiving. Ruthless means being firm in your structural decisions: your standards, your boundaries, who gets access to you, and when you walk away. You can feel deeply and still make decisions that protect your time, wellbeing, and future.
Take your self-worth out of the equation.
When someone pulls away, sends mixed signals or doesn’t want another date, it’s easy to ask: “What’s wrong with me? Was I not enough? What should I have done differently?”
My approach shifts your focus to: “What is this showing me about this person? Does this work for me? What do I want to do next?”
Your worth is irrelevant. You’re getting to know someone and assessing whether you want a relationship with them.
In this live masterclass, we’ll cover how to:
Date with intention: get clear on what you want, your standards and the kind of relationship that fits the life you want to build.
Observe and assess: evaluate someone’s character, emotional availability, effort and compatibility through their behaviour over time.
Stay grounded early on: manage overthinking, fantasy and emotional investment while you’re still getting to know someone.
Set the pace: make intentional choices about your time, sex, vulnerability and access to you, and communicate your needs and boundaries.
Choose a connection that can last: look beyond initial chemistry to shared values, respect and genuine connection.
Move on when it isn’t right: stop bargaining with your standards, chasing closure or treating rejection as evidence against yourself.
Bonus: Inside my Hinge profile: I’ll share exactly what I included in my Hinge profile and why, from photos to prompts.
Live Q&A
You’ll leave with a practical framework for knowing what to look for, what to accept, and when to move on, so dating becomes a series of informed choices rather than a running assessment of your worth - no more self-doubt and confusion.
About me
Hi, I'm Ellen Nguyen! I create content about personal growth and self-worth in action for an audience of 60K+ across platforms. My work gives women the language for their experiences. They feel seen, then they're inspired to act: end the wrong relationship, hold the boundary, go for the job. The acting is the hard part, and it is what I coach.
Previously, I was a Director in Financial Services and worked for companies like Mastercard and J.P. Morgan. As a writer and journalist, I have bylines in the BBC, Business Insider, Cosmopolitan UK, Metro UK, Refinery29, and many others. I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology.
